Our Video Storytelling is the heart of our mission, allowing us to connect with and capture the rich narratives of Canadian Indigenous and new immigrant communities across Manitoba.
The stories we collect are transformed into powerful human diaries. These diaries serve as a bridge between cultures, preserving the essence of the narratives we've encountered. Each entry in these diaries is a testament to the resilience, triumphs, and aspirations of the individuals and communities we engage with. Through storytelling, we honor their heritage, highlight their challenges, and celebrate their achievements.
In a human library, individuals become "human books," each with a unique story or life experience to share. Visitors to the human library can "check out" these human books for a designated period during which they can engage in open and honest discussions, ask questions, and learn from the book's personal experiences.
We love to delve into technology and experiment thus visual storytelling through holograms and augmented reality was a no-brainer for us. This feature will allow us to create immersive and interactive experiences that showcase the impact of our work and the stories of the people we serve. The education experience we create leads our audience to active involvement rather than passive reception.
Our innovative spirit drives us to transcend traditional storytelling boundaries. As a final stage of our operations, we convert these human diaries into captivating augmented reality animations. These animations serve as dynamic cultural hotspots scattered throughout the city. Our mandate empowers us to transform these stories into interactive, educational, and visually engaging experiences for all. Residents and visitors can scan these hotspots, instantly immersing themselves in the narratives, traditions, and experiences of Indigenous peoples and new immigrants.
