Our Story
Amplifying Voices and Stories Through Film and Digital Storytelling
At Focus Hub, we are dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories of Manitoba's Indigenous peoples and new immigrants through the medium of films, documentaries, and digital storytelling. Our organization was founded on the belief that everyone deserves to have their voice heard and their story told. We are passionate about what we do and believe that our work has the power to bring about positive change in our community. Our team is made up of individuals who share a commitment to our mission and are dedicated to creating impactful content that resonates with our audience. If you are interested in learning more about our work or would like to get involved, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to hear from you.
Our Process
Our projects encompasses three distinct but interrelated stages:

1. Cultural Immersion: Our team visits various locations within Manitoba, living amongst the communities we aim to document. We engage with community members, capturing their stories, traditions, and "proud moments" through film and documentaries.
2. Human Diaries: We are researchers by default so we use this stage to research opportunities and resources in the community and record the findings. We transform the recorded interviews and narratives into captivating human diaries. These diaries serve as a powerful repository of history.
3. Augmented Reality Animations: Here comes the innovative aspect of our project. We intend to convert these human diaries into augmented reality animations, which will be strategically placed as hotspots throughout the country. These hotspots will allow people to scan and interact with these stories, gaining a deeper understanding of the cultures and journeys of Indigenous peoples and new immigrants. By merging technology and culture, we aim to create a dynamic, engaging, and educational experience for everyone in our community.
